A Few Things I've Learned From Being A Geek

Yo!
So I have recently talked about the hard times I am going through right now. There's a lot going on and I'm sure that other people have to go through a lot of bad experiences too. In fact I have been so stressed out that I actually called someone a bitch the other day (which is VERY unlike me)!
Now I usually don't like to talk about life situations but this one has gotten particularly bad. When people get stressed they can be angry, violent, sad, unmotivated, sick, and more. Now today I'd love to point out all the amazing things I have learned from comic, video games, t.v. shows, and other geeky things that I love! Hopefully this inspires people as much as it does me!

What I have learned from:

Adventure Time:

Sucking at something is the first step to being kinda good at something! Thinking of all of the mistakes in the past it's easy to realize that once you do something wrong, the next time you wont make the same mistakes. This goes for dating, taking care of pets, cooking, trying new sports or hobbies.
Everyone sucks at something and it's nothing to be ashamed of! Of course if you try something new and are bad at it, you are automatically better than people who haven't tried it yet!
Example: I lost my pet snake and now I know that corn snakes are a bitch to find and that I should keep my eye out for them when handling them.
Thank you Adventure Time!

Adventure time also teaches me "Don't leave your heart exposed". People will take advantage of you if you give them your everything and expect them to love you back. In fact one thing I love about Princess Bubblegum I that her number two priority in life is doing what she loves! SCIENCE! (I would say number one, but I'm sure that's taking care of her citizens!) All the guys in Ooo love her because she's a bad ass princess and she's always herself!
You rock Princess Bubblegum

Doctor Who:

If you are so desperate so stay alive why don't you live a little? This doesn't mean go bungee jumping because YOLO (I've done this though), it means find your passion(s) and live your life. I've started my own bucket list because I personally love having goals to look forward too. Making a bucket list also helps you discover who you are. My favorite past is that when I cross something off I attach it to a photo to remind me that I completed one of my tasks.
If you don't want to make a bucket list then at least give yourself a goal you want to strive for because it will be worth it in the long run!

Alice: Madness Returns:

Reality is a prison. Only in your mind you are free. I 100% believe this because there will always be shit that goes on if reality. Your mind is a wonderful tool. It can store amazing memories, learn new things, try new things, love, and much more.
Finding a peace of mind when you are upset is like an escape from reality and into your own dreams. This may sound cheesy, but I believe you can make your dreams come to life if you can put aside reality.
If you want to be a singer then make it a reality. What are your first steps? At what cost?
You sure are inspiring crazy Alice!

Monster Girl Quest:

Monster girl quest taught me a lot of fun things about life!
1) When you are angry have sex
2) Don't be a racist! Have sex!
3) Don't kidnap and rape people, but still have sex.
4) Don't trust people (or monsters) but have sex!
5) Sex.
I love MGQ because it's got a great story but it's still really funny!

Empowered:

Love yourself and do your best! Emp is a big, curvy white girl with big lips, blonde hair, blue eyes and a stereotypical sexy chick! Now she's also a super hero, and a very useless one at that!
Even though she's always getting made fun of by monsters and her own team mates she still has her boyfriends Thug Boy, her best friend Ninjette, and her pet demon lord robot I should say? She's also still a super hero!
This comic teaches us to love the little things in life because we're all kind of fucked up!
Thanks Empowered!

Anyways that's all for tonight but I plan to add a bunch more and maybe even do a separate: What Anime Taught Me post! I hope this inspires a ton of people as much as it inspired me!
Also! I won't have internet at my apartment for a few days so there wont be much going on unless Aggroe posts! Tomorrow may be my last day on here for a bit!

Steam Punk Bubble Gum

Hey Everyone! It's cosplay day with Anemone!
Since I can't really afford to put together a cosplay right now with the move coming up and I have a wonderful idea I'd love to share with you all I'm just throwing it all out there. I've wanted to cosplay Princess Bubblegum for a very long time 1) Because she's my favorite adventure time character and 2) A friend of mine cosplays a really well done Marceline!
I came across this steam punk version of Princess Bubblegum and decide that this was what I wanted to cosplay! It's still Bubblegum with a trendy, unique twist! Also she's a princess with pink hair so of course I love it!
I found this corset on a website link a friend had sent me: Corset Story It sells a lot of different burlesque and Steam punk styled corsets and clothing. I'm fond of this one here because It has very similar buckles and straps to the one princess bubblegum is wearing in the picture. On the sides and across the front. Though the top has a white chest piece and while frilly shoulder pieces I figure I could find a white blouse to go with the corset if needed. White blouses can easily be found at thrift stores and for bustier women (so not me) can get away with wearing this kind of corset without a shirt underneath.

I find that either of these two skirts would work for this cosplay (both from the same website as the corset). I feel as though the one on the right fits the style a bit more but it's a bit too dark. I like the one on the left because it's light like the skirt bubblegum is wearing in the picture and I personally think it matches the corset much better than the darker skirt. It could be fairly easy to make brown straps to pull up the front of the left skirt so that it's shaped a bit more like the one on the right.
This petticoat I found on etsy. Shabby Chic Petticoat It's slightly ruffled like the one in Bubblegum's steam punk photo. I feel that it may be a tad bit too flat for this cosplay though. I'd plan to put a second petticoat or even a tutu under this to give it some extra umf! I think the style is great though and just what Princess Bubblegum needs!
I'm also in love with these cheap, chic little steam punk marry janes I found on ebay. In all honesty I think I would wear these shoes outside of cosplay as well. They're so trendy with a geeky twist and I'm all for it! Even though Bubblegum is wearing heels I think these look much better, mainly because cosplay and high heels suck!!
As for accessories such as the belt, top, socks and gem I'm sure those would be fairly easy to make or find something similar in a thrift shop. So there we have it! My steam punk Princess Bubblegum outfit!
Have a wonderful evening!

Soon...

Hello everyone!
It's been forEVER, I know that better than anyone... Sorry all~ Well, as far as my news goes, I have translations for tracks 1~11 done in writing, and am halfway through the video for track 3. I have a playthrough to post once it's edited, but it's just Techno Kitten Adventure, my latest addiction! Also, I still have to upload Paranoiac and Homesick, because I'm lazy since I have a lot of schoolwork.
Anemone made me aware of a wonderful picture. You see, I've never been a fan of memes. In fact, there are only a few memes I like. I really enjoy the 'soon' memes, and this one... This one takes the cake.
Isn't it just magnificent~?? I find it lovely and perfect. Who cares if it's photoshopped, it fills my heart with joy and... well, laughter, I guess. Anyways, yeah.
Actually, today, I have something I wanted to talk about! Excited?
~~~
Well, on Tuesday, Anemone and I are getting together to play some MTG to help her relax. In addition, we're doing the challenge that you can see here... Of course, with energy drinks instead of alcohol. It's somewhat less illegal, haha. PHOTO BOOTH TAG! Now, I myself am not a huge fan of Jenna Marbles, but Anemone loves her and this video made me laugh more than I expected. SO check it out!
Alright, I had intended to post about MTG, and I still will. I'll post a TON of info about it. But right now, Anemone and I are making Monster Girl Quest 'soon' memes. Here, I'll show them to you! Most are appropriate, but a few are R-18... I'll warn you all before hand~
THESE TWO ARE R-18!!! The one on the left is censored, the one on the right is NOT.
...
You have all been warned~
...Yes, this is how we spent our morning.
If you want to know who made what specifically, you can ask us in the comments or on our facebook page! Yes, we have both a profile and a page!
Yeah. Anyways, onto Magic: The Gathering!
~~~
So, MTG is an epic card game. I started playing while my stepmom worked at a small store that sold toys, games, and cards. It was a pretty cool store at the time, though the owner's a jerk. Anyways, they sold Magic cards there, and she got into playing. One day, I was visiting her at work and she bought me my first ever deck! It was a blue intro deck with 3 booster packs on the side. Planeswalkers were just carving out a name in the MTG world, and everyone wanted one. I would even say that, because they were so new, they were rarer than they are today.
The deck was a slow moving leveler, with control cards such as "Cancel".
Unfortunately, the four "Mind Controls" I have now were not originally a part of Wind Waker. It was your basic, everyday intro deck, with a mix of commons and uncommons, they don't just hand out rares.
So when I pulled a "Jace Beleren" out of my first booster, my stepmother was shocked. I had no idea the implications at the time. Out of one of the other boosters, I pulled "Lighthouse Chronologist", a mythic rare. Luck was on my side!

Eventually, I added white. It was a flying/level/control deck, and I called her Wind Waker. I had Zelda in mind, but it was named that because I really liked the sound of it! It seems to fit a blue/white flyer deck, anyhow.
In case you didn't know, Magic the Gathering is a wonderful card game that's really fun to play with friends! Anemone and I are playing on Tuesday, and we'll post a video here, so we'll add in the rules and such then~
My first series was the Eldrazi, but my favorite is definitely Zendikar. What did all of you start with? Do you have a favorite deck that you'll never disband? If so, why? What's the story?
Well, I'll post again tomorrow, so look forward to it~
~Aggroe~

Captains and Veterans

Morning!
I know it's anime Monday, but since today is Veterans day I'm going to change things up a bit! For those of
you who don't know, I'm in love with Superheros. I know that people don't have special powers but there are people with power that make them super heroes. Cops, doctors, lawyers, judges, jail guards all do well for the society. Today we celebrate the one's who are willing to give their lives for us. Veterans.
Random story, I have hypoglycemia. It's a low blood sugar disorder so when I don't eat enough I get very, very sick. I was in a Veterans parade when I was a Campfire Girl in elementary school. Before the parade started I had an attack and passed out. Lucky for me a Veteran picked me up and carried me to his car, then drove me to my family who was waiting to see the parade.
Since we are on the topic of the military I feel like today is a good Captain America day. I've got my Avengers T-shirt on and I'm ready for my day! Captain America is my favorite super hero and his movie is also my favorite. (Yes I thought it was WAY better than Avengers, even though the Avengers is still good!)
I also think that today is a good day for sugar, yeah sugar! I would love to make some Captain America cupcakes or cookies for today because that just sounds perfect.
Hope you guys all have a wonderful Veterans day! Thank a veteran and be a hero~

WINTER Reading List of AWESOMENESS!

Good evening everyone~
Today is book day! Hooray! So I have a few good Steven King books and a few comics set aside to read. Also a few fantasy/romance novels. Yes, I love those. Get over it! I haven't read them yet because they are all packed up for moving this Saturday!
Instead you know how some people make a summer reading list for when they are out of school? Well since I'm kind of perminantly out of school I decided to make me WINTER reading list of AWESOMENESS! So I wanted to share a few books that I hope to soon read!
On my list:

1. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

I've been watching the vlog brothers on youtube for quite some time. John Green is one of them and for the longest time I had no idea he is a writer. I first heard of his book Looking for Alaska, which didn't sound too interesting to me. I started seeing his newest novel The Fault in Our Stars appearing more often on websites, in bookstores, and after a while I was pretty curious! After reading a bit about the book I was intrigued and now it's on my top reading list!

2. Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling

Yes to be honest I have never read Harry Potter. I've seen all the movies and I really liked them! I had friends in high school that would go on constantly about the books. At that moment in time I wasn't really interested in it. After a little time and consideration I want to give the books a shot. If anyone spoils it for me I probably wont read them. Let me first time fan girl over these books! It will happen!

3. The Host by Stephanie Meyers

This is the woman who wrote Twilight. My sister read the Host and loved it! My sister reads some REALLY
GOOD BOOKS. If she likes the Host then I will take her word for it. I saw the movie a couple of months ago and HATED it. The movie was completely awful. My sister told me that the book was much different. After reading Cirque Du Freak and then seeing The Vampires Assistant movie I know that books and movies can be COMPLETELY different. So I want to give the Host a shot! All you who wont read it because of Twilight can go f*** off~ This is my reading list. Not yours :D

4. Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerland

I've actually never read this book in school or had a teacher assign it to me. (Doing good education, thanks for screwing me over.) I saw the movie in theaters a while back and let me say it is easily one of my favorite movies. It was sexy, suspicious, sad, and just down right AWESOME! Now a ton of people are telling me Great Gatsby is one of the most boring books they have ever read. The movie is so epic I just can't bring myself to believe the book is bad. Despite what everyone says I'm still going to read it!

5. Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

I'm always a bit behind when it comes to book trends. I'm very picky when reading and I don't really trust other people's opinions on books. The movie itself was pretty good! I really liked it. The reason I want to read the Hunger Games is mainly because my sister recommended it to me. She's also spoiled a bit of it for me. (I like knowing major twists beforehand so I have to read to find out what's going to happen!) I'm excited to read these books!

Now I know I was contradicting myself a bit when I said I like knowing things that get me excited to read a book, but also saying don't spoil Harry Potter for me. This is because I've already heard so much about the Harry Potter books that it almost makes me not want to read them. If I hear any more I probably wont be in the mood to check them out.
If you have a book you want to recommend then go ahead and leave a comment here or on our Facebook Page~

Spiderman, Bullying, and Companions!? It's Random day with Anemone!

According to our poll Spiderman won the Favorite Super Hero!
He's one of mine but I didn't vote for him. Epic right!? Anyways, our next poll is. . .

Who is your favorite companion!?

Martha? Rose? Captain Jack!? What do you think?
If you want to vote then scroll to the very bottom of the page and it will be on the right hand side! Hurry because the poll closes on 11-16! You have until next Saturday to decide on your favorite! Who will it be? ;)

Also! How many of you out in this big bad world are cosplayers! How many of you have been bullied for your gender, race, weight, or cosplay choice? How many of you have been sexually harrased by men or women calling you a slut? How many of you are just trying to enjoy your home made adventure time and Homestuck, and Hetalia cosplays when all of the sudden a group of assholes decide to tell you that you're not a real cosplayer and your fandom sucks? Yeah it happens to everyone.
If you are in the need to blow off some steam or need advice on how to cope with this kind of bullying (Yes! This is bullying!) then feel free to join the cosplay page: Cos We Care. This is a bullying free page where you can talk about your good and bad experiences in cosplay!
If you would like to join here is the link: Cos We Care

Another thing I have found recently. I never understood "fake geek girl" references for the longest time. By the way women reacted to it I thought it was some sort of gang of boys hating on nerdy girls because they were secretly gay, and very rude.
This is false! These "fake geek girl" tumblr pictures are HILARIOUS!!!!!!! I was laughing so hard. Half because the photo's were funny and half at the comments of women who took these pictures literally. Seriously, they are hilarious. I love fake geek girl pictures and honestly if someone calling me fake would just make me laugh inside. Here's what I'm talking about~
I also love the ones where girls get back at guys! I'll post a few of my favorites~
Guys:

Girls:

Anyways, anyone who decides to take these pictures to heart deserve to get butthurt. I think they are funny. No one has ever called me fake, and if one day it does happen then it's no big deal because I know I'm not. If people are trying to drive you away because you are "fake" then those guys are really insecure!
So have a wonderful night! Join the anti bullying page! Vote on your favorite companion! And take jokes lightly!
Night~

Random Thursday~ Japanese Christmas and... Silent Hill?

Good morning everyone! How is the week going~?
I know that Anemone has hit some rough times, so I'll post a link to something that I think will make her smile a bit... Here is a beautiful song about superheroes. It's by one of my all time favorite comedy singers, Stephen Lynch.
Of course, I also love Flight of the Concords, Garfunkel and Oates, and They Might be Giants... But this song just makes my day. It is EXTREMELY inappropriate, but it's hilarious.
~~~
Well now, I dunno what to talk about. Truth be told, that's why I haven't been posting as much, haha...
Hmm, I guess I'll talk about Japanese culture a bit.
You know how in America, Christmas is a time to be with family and New Years is more of a date holiday? Well, in Japan it's reversed! Typically, you will go out on a date on Christmas day or Christmas eve, and enjoy it. On New Year's eve, one will typically join their family in a visit to a shrine at midnight. There, you pray and ask the gods (of Shinto, of course) to bless the New Year... Sort of like a New Year's resolution. After that, you go home and eat Soba noodles with your family, but you have to slurp the noodles. If they break, then the New Year will, supposedly, hold bad luck for the person who broke the noodle...
...
That sounds really... not appropriate.
Anyways, I always thought that was an interesting concept, and I would really love to experience New Year's in Japan.
~~~
Anyways, I really love the Silent Hill games. They are a lot of fun, but I regret to inform you that I never did play the originals... I really want to though, and once I get my PC up and running, I will definitely visit the town of Silent Hill~
I am sad to admit that I've only played Downpour... It only took 4 or 5 hours to beat. I liked it as a standalone game, but it would have been much better if it were longer.
Still, I wish I could play the originals right now~ I heard that Downpour is one of the worst Silent Hill games, but since it's the first one I've ever played, I didn't find it all that bad. It actually scared me 2 or 3 times!
I watched the first movie and the remake, I really liked the original... Pyramid Head is the ultimate badass~ In fact, he's about 10x more terrifying than the new guy, Bogeyman... Pyramid Head is... Well, he's just fucking creepy. Bogeyman is more like "RAWR I WILL KILL YOU AND EAT YOUR HEART!!!" And PH is all "Hm~ I'm gonna take my time~ Soon, you'll be BEGGING for death~ *creepy giggle*"
I dunno, that's how I see them.

Still though, I wouldn't want to meet either of these mofos in a dark alleyway at night... Or during the day for that matter.
  This picture made me laugh, and I'm not sure why, but I really liked it.
Adorable, right?

Yeah. That's about it I guess. Peace!
...
No, I'm never saying that again.
Bye everyone!
~Aggroe~
